„Ein besonders süsses und rundes Fass aus einer Charge getorften Islay-Malzes,

das wir mit einer 18-monatigen Lagerung in First Fill Oloroso angereichert haben –

genau die richtige Zeit, um nicht zu viel Wein hinzuzufügen,

sondern die Rauchnote noch intensiver zu machen.

Obwohl er stark getorft ist, ist er in der Nase ausgewogen und sanft:

leichte balsamische Noten, ein Hauch von Kirschen und Orangenschale,

ohne erkennbaren Sherry. Am Gaumen ist er extrem russig und aschig,

hat aber auch einen besonders cremigen Charakter,

der ein wenig an zähe schwarze Lakritze erinnert.

Ausserdem riecht er nach Orangenmarmelade und einem Hauch von Leder und

bäuerlichen Noten.

Die perfekte Balance aus samtiger Lakritzsüsse und kräftigem Torfrauch verweilt minutenlang im Nachgeschmack am Gaumen.“

Tasting Notes:

“A particularly sweet and round cask from a batch of peated Islay malt which we chose to enrich with eighteen months of finish in first fill Oloroso,

the right amount of time not to add too much wine but simply make the smokiness even more powerful.

While very peated, at the nose it’s balanced and gentle: some balsamic notes, a hint of cherries and orange peel, with no evident sherry.

At the palate, it’s extremely sooty and ashy, but it also has a peculiarly creamy character, somewhat reminiscent of chewy black liquorice candy.

There also is orange marmalade, and a touch of leather and farmy notes.

The perfect balance of velvety liquorice sweetness and powerful peat smoke lingers for minutes on the palate in the aftertaste.“
